Internet Safety I & II

The video that was viewed stressed the importance of releasing and disclosing personal information. It was shown that with relatively very little information an individual can locate you vicinity and even street address. The first video talks about a girl who traveled cross country to meet with a stranger who later abducted and abused her.

Privacy is a very viable and lurking topic to discuss. Identity theft and fraudulent crimes are one of the fastest crimes on the rise not only in our state but throughout our nation. Being aware and mindful of what is being told, typed or texted to who is a very serious matter.

That second video was CREEPY (with that SAW music in the background). That seems all to possible; I think that is what makes it so frighting. Parents should definately have a level of control over who their child is talking to and when. Which should consist of passwords, timers, blocks, and even a recording of their conversations.
And if the kid talks about privacy and respect...hit'em with the ol'..."when you start paying rent, that's when you could lock doors and chat to whoever you want...not under my roof, shoot."

I totally agree with your perceptions on internet safety, it was unnerving and quite informative regarding safety procedures.
Thank you for the line about "...until you pay the rent..."
